Good day,
Thank you for taking the time to read my post. I am trying to get my life back together. Any assistance, advice or suggestion will be highly appreciated.
During the last two years I have lived in a domestic violence shelter, left college to take care of my ailing mother and in Dec. of 2007 my mother and I were evicted from our apartment. I just turned 21 and I am trying to put back the pieces of my life together, get some stability and return to school.
When we were evicted, my mother moved in with some friends and I moved from New York to New Jersey to stay with a friend. I have been seeking a job since then but to no avail. In February, my friend lent me some money and I rented a room. I was certain that I would find a job and would be able to pay my rent from then on, but because I do not have a college degree yet, I have been having difficulty finding a job.
My rent is now due, and my cupboards are bare. I have one business suit but no work shoes. I tried to get into a NJ school but I don't qualify for financial aid because I haven't live in the state long enough. I am used to dealing with obstacles and challenges but it is a lot harder this time because I am in a new, unfamiliar state by myself.
Any assistance, advice or suggestion will be highly appreciated. Thank you in advance. God bless.
